I’m going to complain a little bit more. Hopefully this won’t lead to anything bad. I’ve been trying to get some packing done today, but my back is killing me. I’m sure the extra 30 pounds in my belly and lugging around a 36 pound toddler have something to do with it. I woke up this morning, after a wrestless night, wondering how I was going to get through the day. So far I’ve managed. We spent a couple of hours over at the farm playing with kitties and watching the tractors. We came home, watched a couple of cartoons, attempted lunch, and took a nap. I say attempted lunch because about the time I put him in his high chair he kept asking to go “nigh nigh”. Apparently sitting outside is tiring for him. All in all it hasn’t been a bad day though. He’s been in a pretty decent mood.
My mom is talking about coming out again towards the end of next week. I asked if she would help me paint over at my ILs. She didn’t sound too thrilled about it, but it is getting really hard for me to get stuff like that done. I can’t do much without getting winded.
On a positive note, my blog stats have been way up the past week. It’s probably from friends and family checking in more often, but I always think it’s fun to see how many people actually read this. Some even think it’s interesting! I had a comment from a woman who’s 2 year old also broke his leg on the 3rd. It is nice to know that someone else is going through the same thing. I know others who have been through it, but it’s nice to know someone who is going through the same things at the same time. So Shara, if you have found anything that helps keep your little boy occupied, pass it on!

I don’t know how it will work for you, but my little guy, Clark, has found that he LOVES playdough. For the past 2 days, he’s sat at the kitchen table for hours playing with the stuff. It’s a miracle and a literal answer to prayer. I only had 2 colors, so I found out how to make homemade with kool-aid. 1 cup flour, 1/2 c salt, 3 tbsp oil, 1 pkt favorite color of kool-aid, 1 cup boil water. Mix dry ingredients. Add boiling water and oil. Mix until cool enough to handle. Knead with a little extra flour. Voila! Playdough…and it smells good. Clark wraps it around toys, cuts it with plastic knives, uses the rolling pin, “cuts” stuff with the plastic cookie cutters, puts it in the plastic bag, takes it out of the plastic bag, and then starts the whole process over again. I’m not exaggerating when I say hours. It’s amazing what I’ve gotten done the past 2 days. I’m kinda hoping he’ll continue to enjoy it after the leg heals. hehehehe
